Elizabeth Morrell Barred Over Fraudulent Woodbridge Group Ponzi Scheme

Attorney Advising Disclaimer

FINRA barred Western International Securities broker Elizabeth Ann Morrell (Southern California) while investigating Morrell's involvement with the fraudulent Woodbridge Group of Companies Ponzi scheme after Morrell told staff she would refuse to cooperate with the investigation.

After working at Western International Securities in Westlake Village, CA from 2008 to 2020, the firm in February 2020 discharged Elizabeth Morrell (CRD #4905003) for selling a non-approved product.

According to AWC #2020065734401, FINRA opened an investigation into Morrell's alleged sales of the unapproved Woodbridge securities product, deemed by the SEC in 2018 to be a massive Ponzi scheme that harmed at least 8,400 senior citizens and elderly investors to the tune of $1.2 billion.

When Morrell told Enforcement staff she wouldn't cooperate with its investigation, FINRA barred her from the securities industry, placing Liz Morrell into a similar column as disgraced brokers Dee Dee Brooks (Signator Investors of Huntington Beach, CA), James Lamont (Independent Financial Group of Novato, CA), John Ernst (Foresters Equity Services of San Diego, CA), and countless other registered representatives and financial advisers implicated in the massive $1.2 billion Woodbridge fraud.
