FINRA Bars John Lee Scott of LPL Financial (Phoenix) During Outside Business Activity nad Private Securities Transaction Investigation

Attorney Advising Disclaimer

FINRA barred John Lee Scott, formerly of LPL Financial in Phoenix, as a result of an investigation into Scott's potential undisclosed outside business activities and private securities transactions.

In addition to his association with LPL Financial, John Scott (CRD #2407610)'s BrokerCheck file lists additional outside business activities as 401K Advisors Arizona (his dba entity for LPL), Southwest Investment Partners (real estate), RPAG of Arizona, and Global Retirement Partners LLC.

Scott's file indicates he started the Global Retirement Partners business activity in 2017 as an investment advisor representative after a two-year run as Managing Director of Scott Capital Management in Scottsdale, AZ. The website for Scott Capital Management presently displays an "Under Construction" message.

According to AWC #2019064978901, Scott's potential participation in private placement offerings, combined with termination of his association with LPL Financial in August 2019, prompted regulators to open an investigation into the issue of undisclosed outside business activities and private securities transactions.

When Scott informed FINRA in March 2021 that he would not cooperate with FINRA's request for testimony, the regulator opted to bar him.

If you invested with ex-LPL Financial and Global Retirement Partners representative John Lee Scott or with any broker or financial adviser whose undisclosed outside business activities or private securities transactions conducted away from their employing firm has proven harmful to your investments or interests, please call an experienced FINRA arbitration attorney at The Law Offices of Jonathan W.
